How to Use
Remote control on/off
- Press the power button for 1 second while in off condition to turn on the remote control, and the power indicator light will be on to show the power status of it.
Solid Green: 100%=>battery level>10%
Solid Red: 10%=>battery level >0%
Flashing Red: battery level = 0%
2. Press the power button and hold for 5 seconds to turn off the remote control When it is on but not connected to the camera.
3. When the remote control is powered on and connected to the camera, press the power button of the remote control and hold for 5 seconds to tum off both the remote control and the camera.
Connect to the Camera
Apply for Insta360 Cameras
- Press the power button for 1 second to power the remote control on. Then the status indicator will flash blue rapidly, indicating that the remote control has entered Bluetooth pairing mode.
- When connecting to an Insta360 camera for the firsttime, press and hold the mode button on the remote control for 5 seconds to enter forced Bluetooth pairing mode. (The power indicator light and the status indicator will flash alternately.)
- Turn on the camera.
- Tap “Insta360 GPS Preview Remote” option in the camera’ s pull-down menu at the remote control settings interface. When the camera indicates that it has connected, the remote control’s status indicator will change from rapidly flashing blue to solid blue, indicating that you can control the camera with the remote control.
Apply for GoPro Cameras
- Press the power button on the remote control to tum it on, and the remote control’s status indicator will flash blue rapidly.
- Turn on the camera.
- Tap “Pair Device” option In the camera’s drop-down menu to put the camera into pairing mode. When the remote control’s status indicator changes from rapidly flashing blue to solid blue , indicating that you can control the camera with the remote control.
Important Notes:
- Please make sure that the camera firmware is upgraded to the latest official version.
- The effective control distance of the remote control is 50 meters (in the case of no interference and no obstruction)
- There is no need to repeat the connection steps for the subsequent uses, and the remote control can wake up the camera directly after the first successful pairing and connection.
Wake up the Camera
Apply for Insta360 Cameras
1. The remote control has the function of waking up the camera. Once it is connected to the camera successfully, you can tum off the camera screen by just pressing the power button of the remote control briefly for 1 second, and the status indicator of the remote control turns solid blue.
(Noted: press and hold the power button for 5 seconds will turn off both the camera and the remote control.)
Noted:
- If you have turned off the camera via the remote control, a brief press of the remote control’s power button for one second will wake up the camera (provided that the Bluetooth wake-up function has been turned on in advance) and the remote control will be connected to the camera automatically in a few seconds (the camera will indicate that the remote control has been connected, and the remote control’s status indicator will turn solid blue).
- If you have replaced or moved the camera batteries while the camera is off the remote control can’ t wake up the camera in this case. You have to turn on the camera before it is automatically connected to the remote control.

Control the camera to switch shooting modes
Apply for Insta360 Cameras
- You can switch between photo and video modes by briefly pressing the mode button for 1 second before the shooting starts. Stop switching and stay for a mode for 5 seconds, then you can enter that mode and start shooting.
- The X3 and X2 camera can switch between inner single lens, outer single lens, and panoramic mode before the shooting starts by pressing and holding the shutter button of the remote control for 3 seconds.
- Mark can be added by briefly pressing the mode button for 1 second for the One Rand RS camera.
- For GO3, even the mode has been switched successfully by briefty pressing the mode button, the Ul interface still remains the same without displaying the switched mode. The Ul will display the switched mode only by pressing the shutter button.
Noted:
- The mode button doesn’ t work when the camera is recording video.
- Pressing and holding the mode button for 5 seconds will cause the remote control to disconnect from the camera and enter Bluetooth pairing mode. Wait for a few seconds until it automatically connects to the camera to restore the connection. (Light indication: press and hold the mode button for 5 seconds until the power light flashes rapidly at which time the status indicator flashes blue rapidly , the remote control disconnects from the camera and enters Bluetooth pairing mode. After the status indicator flashes blue rapidly for a few seconds, the status indicator returns solid blue, and the camera and the remote control restore the connection.)
Apply for GoPro Cameras
- Switch between the sub-modes menu of the camera by pressing the power button of the remote control briefly for 1 second before the camera starts shooting.
- Switch between the main-modes menu of the camera by pressing the mode button of the remote control briefly for 1 second before the camera starts shooting.
- When starting recording, press the mode key briefly for 1 second to mark HI.
Noted:
- The mode button doesn’ t work when the camera is recording video.
- Pressing and holding the mode button for 5 seconds will cause the remote control to disconnect from the camera and enter Bluetooth pairing mode. Wait for a few seconds until it automatically connects to the camera to restore the connection. (Light indication: press and hold the mode button for 5 seconds until the power light flashes rapidly at which time the status indicator flashes blue opi ly, the remote control disconnects from the camera and enters Bluetooth pairing mode. After the status indicator flashes blue rapidly for a few seconds, the status indicator returns solid blue, and the camera and the remote control restore the connection.)
Control the camera for photos and videostakin
The remote control allows you to take photos or videos by pressing the shutter button after successfully connecting the camera.
- While in the preview mode, press the shutter button briefly for 1 second to take a photo or start recording.
- While recording, press the shutter button briefly for 1 second and the camera will stop recording.
- When the camera screen is off, a brief press of the shutter button for 1 second will turn on the screen and start recording,
- When the camera is off, a brief press of the shutter button for 1 second will power on the camera, tum on the screen, and start recording.
